]]>Jamil discussed her beauty routine with E! at the red carpet before the Emmys and explained she decided to speak up after realizing she had to spend much more time doing hair and makeup than her male co-star.
“I realized the girls were getting in like 4:45 or 4:30 in the morning and I realized we had an hour and 45 minutes in hair and makeup. I was like, ‘How ugly do you think I am? There’s no prosthetics on me. I just need half an hour in hair and makeup. I’ll do my own makeup,’” joked the actress.
Someone else did her hair, but saving time on makeup eventually helped her give a better performance because it’s easier to be funny when you’re not tired. Doing her own makeup is nothing new for Jameela Jamil, and she did the same for the Emmys, where she showed up in a stunning Monique Lhuillier gown.
