Rogien describes Katy’s style as “very fashion-forward” and “sophisticated”, but she wanted to give us more than heart-printed red dresses this character is known for. Fuchsia and crimson are still her go-to shades, but she found a way to make them look more mature.

Katy Keene’s costumes will probably become even more epic over time because creators Michael Grassi and Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa want to eventually invite fans to design their own.

Part of the reason why she was so stylish in the comics was the fact that the readers often submitted and got credited for their original designs, and showrunners are hoping to do the same with its TV adaptation.
