Friends fans will remember that after Rachel Green left her waitressing gig, she became a personal shopper at Bloomingdales. She went on to become a buyer and by the end of the series, she was a fashion executive at Ralph Lauren.

In honor of the brand’s appearance on the show, which is now celebrating its 25th anniversary, Ralph Lauren have released a Rachel Green-inspired collection. The line is inspired by Rachel’s later looks in the series so you can expect sophisticated workwear and tailored clothing. The garments have all been adapted to suit 2019 trends but they are all heavily inspired by the 90s. We are talking about turtleneck sweaters and plenty of leopard print.

“Just as Friends has proved to be a perennial favourite series for viewers over the last 25 years, this collection reflects Ralph Lauren’s timeless styles and archetypes that have remained a go-to for the modern working woman,” the brand said in a statement.

Lauren’s roaring twenties inspired collection was focused on a women’s tuxedo, with a twist: button-detailing, high-waisted pants, brightly colored jackets, and suede undershirts. Some more feminine pieces included spectacular evening dresses with see-through paneling, feathered bodices, and sequins everywhere. The most memorable looks of the evening included Bella Hadid’s red sequins gown with a revealing neckline, a dark purple and black velvet womenswear tux, and a shimmering black leather minidress.

At 79 years of age, Lauren heads up one of the most illustrious fashion labels in the world, but he started out from The Bronx as the son of immigrants.

Lauren’s upbringing and the beginning of his career, as a tie salesman, will form part of the upcoming documentary which is being produced by HBO.

Emmy-nominated director, Susan Lacy, who previously helmed documentaries on both Jane Fonda and Steven Spielberg, will be in charge of the project which has been titled Very Ralph.

The feature will highlight Lauren’s childhood, his marriage to Ricky Ann Low-Beer to whom he has been betrothed since 1964, and his fashion career which has spanned an impressive six decades.

The documentary will include several interviews with the famous designer and those closest to him.

Very Ralph is due out later this year.
