]]>After a fan posted a picture on twitter of Styles and her father with the caption, “Soooo [sic] my dad just met harry [sic] in Italy…, cannot f****** believe my eyes #HarryStyles,” others quickly began to take notice of the star’s fringe. Many are likening Styles new ‘do to Timothée Chalamet’s bowl cut, Charlize Theron’s ‘90s pixie, former bandmate Louis Tomlinson, and -most notably- Charlie Heaton of Stranger Things. A few other fans responded to the original post comparing Styles to the latter by posting GIFs and saying, “how did he jonathan byers his hair in like a week?”
Style’s entire aesthetic evolution has been picking up speed, he has been sporting lots of florals and androgynous pieces, and he has been experimenting with jewelry. This crop of hair is just the latest in a slew of experimental cuts. Despite all the ado from fans and their apparent disappointment with this style, one thing remains certain according to Vogue: “Hairdos are fleeting, but Styles is forever.”

]]>Since going solo, Styles has been stepping out in crazy patterns and androgynous outfits, but recently the singer revealed his true passion for fashion while discussing his ad campaign for Gucci’s new fragrance. Styles shared his love for the brand’s Mémoire d’une Odeur, and divulged that trying new things fashion-wise has become an outlet for his personal expression.
Styles told Dazed that he “love[s] the clothes. That helps a lot. Just going on stage in a nuts suit with a bunch of sequins makes you feel good, and then you want to play.” He went on to detail how important he believes fashion is for an onstage persona, saying, “I think [for] the people I have always admired and looked up to in music, clothes have always been a big part of the thing.”
Similar to his taste in clothing, Styles prefers a gender-fluid fragrance like the new Gucci. The crooner also said he loved working on the campaign because “everyone is open to be themselves and it’s made me feel more comfortable to try different things and have a bit more fun.”

]]>According to the official website of The Metropolitan Museum of Art, the upcoming exhibition will explore the origins of the camp aesthetic, and how it has evolved from a place of marginality to become an important influence on mainstream culture.
This exciting theme was framed around Susan Sontag’s seminal essay Notes on Camp from 1964. The exhibition is set to explore all the ways fashion designers engaged with camp in a myriad of compelling, humorous, and sometimes incongruous ways.
Andrew Bolton, the curator in charge of the Costume Institute, revealed they picked this theme because they felt it’s very relevant to the current cultural climate. He believes this theme is very timely because we’re going through an extreme camp moment as a society, but we shouldn’t forget sophistication and power that comes with it.
Camp: Notes on Fashion exhibit will take place from May 9 to September 8, 2019. The grand opening will be marked on May 6 with the annual Met Gala, hosted by Lady Gaga, Harry Styles and Serena Williams.
