Hoodies have been a mainstay in the world of street fashion for quite a while and leading designers are now reimagining them in a classy and elegant way. Hooded dresses have made their way to countless red carpet events in the past few weeks and here are five of the very best.

Alessandra Ambrosio

Ambrosio is the biggest fan of hooded dresses in Hollywood and we’ve seen her wearing them more than once, but this orange Alberta Ferretti gown is our personal favorite.

Laura Harrier

Hooded dresses in different shades of brown were especially popular with our favorite stars this fall and Laura Harrier gave this trend her seal of approval with this Saint Laurent number.

Michaela Coel

Coel also couldn’t resist wearing a hooded brown dress to the Black Panther 2: Wakanda Forever premiere, but she made her look a little bit more dazzling with this sparkly Ferragamo dress.

Simone Ashley

Speaking of dazzling hooded dresses, Simone Ashley made us fall in love with them all over again with this mermaid-inspired lavender sheer gown by 16Arlington.

Addison Rae

Rae put a futuristic twist on hooded designs with this mini gray dress with the long black train from this year’s CFDA Awards.

Black and white is one of the color combos that have been ruling the fashion world since the dawn of time, and it’s going stronger than ever right now. Many of our favorite celebrities are stepping into fall rocking black and white dresses—and here are some of our favorites so far.

Penelope Cruz

If we had to pick a single event that put black and white dresses back on the map, it would definitely be the Venice Film Festival. Many celebrities attending this event couldn’t resist this color combo, and Cruz led the way with her stunning Chanel gown.

Tiffany Haddish

Speaking of beautiful black and white dresses that we spotted in Venice, Haddish’s Christian Siriano gown with the white corset and black skirt is one of the most elegant so far.

Lily Collins

Collins is one of our favorite trendsetters in Hollywood, and it’s always exciting to see her give rising fashion designers her seal of approval. She’s done it once again with this sharply sculpted blazer dress by Ronald van der Kemp.

Camila Cabello

Cabello gave us one of the most extravagant takes on this trend with this Oscar de la Renta with a dazzling bodice and made her a little bit more edgy with over-the-knee Casadei boots.

If we had to pick a single fashion trend that absolutely dominated this year’s award season, orange dresses would make the cut. They made an appearance at pretty much every major red carpet event this spring, and these five stars have given them their seal of approval.

Megan Thee Stallion

Stallion was among the first stars to put orange dresses on the map. She attended the Grammys in this adorable, strapless Dolce & Gabbana gown with an oversized bow on the back.

Zendaya

Zendaya’s outfits were bursting with color this spring, and she delivered one of her best looks in a charming Valentino dress with a white top and orange organza skirt.

Regina King

Regina King was one of the MVPs of this year’s award season. She rocked our world with each dress she showed up in, but none of them compares to this orange Christopher John Rogers gown.

Ariana DeBose

Ariana DeBose brought the orange trend to this year’s Academy Award, where she hit the red carpet in a vibrant one-shoulder Versace dress with a high slit and cutout details.

Chrissy Teigen

Teigen has a soft spot for orange gowns, and she recently wore one at Global Citizen’s Vax Live concert. The Valdrin Sahiti high-low dress came with a plunging neckline, belted waist, and a long, elegant train.

Puffy sleeves made a huge comeback this winter, and we’ve seen many stars rocking them on the red carpet. Kat Graham did it more than once, and here are some of her best looks that feature dramatic oversized sleeves.

Longer Sleeves

The majority of dresses we’ve seen on the red carpet kept their puffy sleeves short, but this Ronald van der Kemp number proves they can look equally stylish if you go for longer ones.

Green Combo

It’s not obvious at first, but Graham’s Ronny Kobo’s blouse from this outfit comes with puffy sleeves, as well, and this is one of her best looks with this fashion detail.

Sheer Trend

The Vampire Diaries star used this look to pull off several fashion trends at once, since her dress also happened to have sheer sections in addition to featuring dramatic sleeves.

Perfect Balance

Puffy sleeves have the power to add some drama to the simplest outfits, and Graham’s Ronny Kobo dress is the perfect example, since it would look pretty ordinary otherwise.

Cutouts have been hitting the red carpet time and time again in the last few months and Zendaya fell in love with this craze so much that we’ve seen her rocking cutout dresses on several occasions.

A new year brings new red carpet trends along, and 2020 already gave us its first major fashion craze. Puffy sleeves are taking the world by storm and here’s a couple of stars who made a statement by rocking them on the red carpet.

Jodie Comer

The dramatic sleeves first made a splash at this year’s Golden Globe ceremony, and Comer’s emerald Mary Katrantzou gown was one of many that put this trend on the map.

Beyoncé

Beyoncé also gave her seal of approval to fashion pieces with puffy sleeves with this custom Schiaparelli gown, that perfectly blended black and gold shades.

Bebe Rexha

The “Last Hurrah” singer proved that little black dress and signature sleeves can be a perfect combo with this adorable Yanina Couture number.

Cynthia Erivo

Over-the-top sleeves were all the rage at the Critics’ Choice Awards, as well, and Erivo was one of the stars who embraced this trend with her colorful Fendi number.

Olivia Wilde

Wilde kept things simple and classy with her Valentino gown, but puffy sleeves gave it that special something it would’ve been missing otherwise.

We wouldn’t judge you if you completely missed Kim Kardashian’s look at this year’s Emmy Awards, in the sea of other more extravagant dresses that made the headlines. Even if that’s the case, her red carpet appearance made one thing clear – black velvet dresses are back, and they’re here to stay.

Kim Kardashian was spotted in this outfit about a week after she attended Creative Arts Emmy Awards in a similar dress. She showed up on the red carpet in another black velvet number with a high neckline and finished the look with a pair of matching heels with crisscross straps.

Long story short, this means that she attended two events in a row wearing a similar design, and it’s just a matter of time before the rest of the world takes notice. Other celebrities, including Rihanna and Camila Cabello, have also been spotted rocking black velvet recently, showing the world this trend isn’t going anywhere.

A surprising trend emerged on the Emmy’s red carpet this year, one that we saw many times throughout the night, red and pink dresses. Many celebrities appeared to be wearing the same outfit this time around, but each dress had slightly different details – some had puff-sleeves and others had capes. They all had one thing in common – they were all the same shades of pink and red.

It’s up to you to decide which star wore it best.

Mandy Moore

This was our favorite take on the trend. The This is Us star wore a pink and red Brandon Maxwell puffy off the shoulder dress with a high side slit.

Susan Kelechi Watson

Moore’s This is Us costar also decided to follow the trend; Watson wore a similar red and pink form-fitting dress by designer Christian Siriano, which featured puffy off the shoulder silk sleeves. We are left thinking that maybe these two planned on twinning.

Taraji P. Henson

Henson wore another pink and red dress by designer Vera Wang that featured a sheer cape design.

Marisa Tomei

Tomei’s dress by designer Ralph & Russo was a slightly brighter take on the pink and red combo and it featured a one-shoulder detail.

Zoe Kazan

Kazan’s Gucci dress was an ode to the ’80s with huge shoulder pads and a giant bow. Her dress also gave us another color to look at besides pink and red.

The famous reality star opted for a Vivienne Westwood gown and added some drama to her look with several chunky necklaces that gave us a strong ‘90s vibe – just like one of her latest makeup collections, which paid homage to this era.
