The new season is finally upon us, and it’s just a matter of time before you transition your closet from summer to fall. Organizing your closet for a new season can feel pretty overwhelming, but we’re here with all the tips and tricks you’ll need to put things in order in no time.
Deal With Summer Clothes
Before dealing with your clothes for fall, you’ll have to put your summer clothes away. If you have enough time on your hands, you can declutter your summer wardrobe and put the things you’re no longer wearing away for donation or sale before placing the rest in the back of your closet.
Go Through Your Fall Clothes
Instead of simply putting your fall clothes in the front of your closet, you should take some time to assess them. Go through your sweaters, cardigans, jeans, skirts, jackets, and other fall staples, and take some to decide which ones are worth keeping. In addition to decluttering your closet, this step will help you avoid buying items you already have once you go shopping for new fall clothes.
Have a System
If you don’t already have a system for organizing your clothes in place, it’s time to work on it. You can either organize your clothes by color or group similar items together. Jackets, coats, blazers, blouses, cardigans, and dresses are best hung if you have enough room, while everything else is best folded.
