A Classic Versace Dress is Gaining New Life in a Different Form

One of Jennifer Lopez’s most famous outfits is being re-engineered for her 50th birthday.

The “On the Floor” singer graced the red carpet at the 2000 Grammy Awards (where her song “Waiting for Tonight” was nominated for Best Dance Recording) in Versace.

Although J.Lo walked home empty-handed, the green, jungle-print gown became iconic.

“It was an unexpected success,” Donatella Versace told Canadian Press about the dress which plunged to the naval. “The [day after the Grammys] Jennifer was all over the place with people talking about her in that dress. It was one of those moments like Gianni had with Elizabeth Hurley and the safety-pin dress.”

Nineteen years later, the dress is back — albeit in a different form.

Versace has collaborated with Concepts to create a pair of limited-edition shoes that bear the dress’s distinct print.

The Chain Reaction trainers are available for both men and women at $1,075 a pop.

Now you have something to run in around the (Jenny from the) block.
