Olivier Rousteing became a creative director of Balmain in 2011 when he was only 25, replacing Christophe Decarnin. It only took Rousteing one collection to let the world know he’s a rising star whose name will be written in the fashion history books. His work is bold and playful as he combines a rock chic aesthetic with haute couture and makes the most famous Hollywood beauties fall in love with his work.

The documentary about this young visionary’s work will premiere on November 27th, 2019 in France. It’s titled Wonder Boy and it was directed and produced by Anissa Bonnefont. “It’s about a designer trying to understand the secrets that surround his own birth. And by making it — or allowing it to be made — Mr. Rousteing isn’t just trying to change his own image, he’s trying to change the image of what is possible in France,” New York Times wrote recently.

As Rousteing shared at the pre-premiere that was held in France, it’s quite unusual to see yourself in such a movie so early in life, as biopics are usually made when a person is older or has already dead.
