The Queer Eye star is the first non-female to grace the covers of Cosmopolitan UK in 35 years!

Jonathan Van Ness identifies as non-binary and he uses male pronouns. Boy George was on the cover in 1984 and One Direction were on it in 2012.

JVN is no stranger to wearing amazing dresses and the most-striking heels, and his look on the cover is fabulous. We’re living for his orange and pink tulle dress by designer Cristian Siriano, which he paired with Nike’s and striped socks. Could he be any cooler?

Just this past June, JVN told Out, “I’ve been wearing heels and wearing makeup and wearing skirts and stuff for a minute, honey. I just, like, didn’t know that that meant — that I had a title. I didn’t really put that together with ‘gender nonconforming’ or ‘non-binary’ or owning that as an identity until recent[ly], because I think I just thought that I loved skirts and heels.”

The cover star announced the news on Instagram, “My body is ready. 1st non-Female star of Cosmopolitan UK in 35 years.”

We can’t wait to pick up our copy of the magazine and if you want to hear more from JVN check out Cosmopolitan UK’s interview here.
