If you’ve been following Kaia Gerber’s career from the very start, you’ve probably noticed her hair has been getting shorter and shorter over time. The young model recently discussed her transformation with Vogue Australia and explained why she decided to get rid of her long locks.
Gerber was chatting with the magazine during her lunch break at the Milan Fashion Week, and admitted that Kurt Cobain served as her original inspiration for the major chop. She spent a lot of time feeling the pressure to have long pretty hair, but eventually decided to take the power into her own hands.
This haircut may not seem like a huge step if you’re not familiar with the inner-workings of the modeling world, but it was for Kaia Gerber who felt liberated after going down this road.
“It felt very cleansing; it was actually a weight off my shoulders. I definitely feel more ‘me’. It gave me more individuality. It’s also just easier. I think every woman at least once in her life should feel the liberation of cutting her hair off,” said the young model.
