National Lipstick Day Should Be Considered a National Holiday

If July 29th isn’t already in your calendar, it should be.

That’s because the important date is National Lipstick Day.

The self-appointed queen of false lashes, Huda Kattan, who founded Huda Beauty, established the day in 2016, encouraging women — and men if they do fancy! — to flaunt their favorite lip color and post pictures using the hashtag #NationalLipstickDay.

Several stores and beauty brands also got in on the fun by slashing the prices of many of their shades.

MAC, whose Ruby Woo red lipstick is iconic, offered customers a free lippie with any purchase over $25, while NYX shoppers could get two Lip Lingerie Liquid Lipsticks if they spent more than $35. Huda herself also gave away a free lip product with any lip purchase.

Some brands decided to discount their prices including Target and Colourpop which offered 25% and 40% off their lip products, respectively.

Sounds like a fabulous excuse to pucker up!
