Designer Susan Alexandra has been making handmade jewelry since 2014 and recently started creating her now-famous beaded bags. They became insanely popular on Instagram for several reasons – they are handmade, unique, and look amazing on photos as well as with various outfits.
The designer has learned to appreciate the effort that goes into making stuff by hand over time. “Before I was making stuff, I would refresh the Zara website, and I’d love to shop at H&M,” she says. “I had no idea what goes into making something by hand, and now I have so much respect for that. There’s so much integrity in items that are made by hand, and not by a big corporation.”
