The new season is finally upon us, and it’s just a matter of time before you transition your closet from summer to fall. Organizing your closet for a new season can feel pretty overwhelming, but we’re here with all the tips and tricks you’ll need to put things in order in no time.

Deal With Summer Clothes

Before dealing with your clothes for fall, you’ll have to put your summer clothes away. If you have enough time on your hands, you can declutter your summer wardrobe and put the things you’re no longer wearing away for donation or sale before placing the rest in the back of your closet.

Go Through Your Fall Clothes

Instead of simply putting your fall clothes in the front of your closet, you should take some time to assess them. Go through your sweaters, cardigans, jeans, skirts, jackets, and other fall staples, and take some to decide which ones are worth keeping. In addition to decluttering your closet, this step will help you avoid buying items you already have once you go shopping for new fall clothes.

Have a System

If you don’t already have a system for organizing your clothes in place, it’s time to work on it. You can either organize your clothes by color or group similar items together. Jackets, coats, blazers, blouses, cardigans, and dresses are best hung if you have enough room, while everything else is best folded.

It may not be spring, but there’s no reason you can’t do a fall cleaning! If you don’t want to deal with your whole house, you can declutter and organize your closet and get ready for the new fashion season that’s approaching.

Have Enough Time

Whether you’re the type of person who loves cleaning and organizing or perhaps someone who doesn’t enjoy the activity as much as the end result, you need to set aside enough time to complete such a big project. It would be ideal to have a whole day to take out, try, and sort all the items you keep in your wardrobe.

Be Realistic

Decluttering should be all about the things you want to keep so be realistic about your lifestyle and your actual needs. If you spend most of your time at home, perhaps you don’t need to hang on to all the clothes you used to wear to work. If you’ve just finished school and are about to start working, expect your fashion needs to change, too.

Recycling

Once you’ve decided what clothes you want to keep and what needs to go out of your life, you need to sort the pile that isn’t going back to your closet. Separate into categories like selling, donating, repairing, recycling, etc.

You can never have enough clothes, and that’s a fact! The problem appears when you’re living in a house with limited storage place. How can you actually make things work without having to sacrifice half of your clothes? These simple tips will help you organize a small closet in only a matter of hours.

Hanging Organizer

The internet is such an amazing place where you can find literally anything you need. Start your search for a good hanging organizer that will save you time and space. This means that you’ll be able to place clothes in the empty spaces in your closet, on the walls, on a rack, and use the most of the room that you have.

Drawer Organizers

Messy drawers are the worst! If you have a small closet, one of the best things you can do is to get drawer organizers. That way you’ll fit in much more than you could’ve ever imagined. And it doesn’t even have to be an expensive investment. Simply grab empty shoeboxes that fit into the drawers.

Use the Doors

The doors can handle the weight, which means you can also place hangers and organizers there. This is the perfect spot for your coats or accessories.

If you’re in a fashion funk or need some inspiration with complete reviews and try-ons, you might want to turn from Instagram to YouTube. The video streaming site has hundreds of thousands of fashion video bloggers (vloggers) that will help you build your closet without wasting time or money. Here are our favorites:

Ava Jules

Ava is a teen fashion vlogger located in Hawaii. She shops at a variety of stores from super affordable to middle of the line. She posts a huge shopping haul at the beginning of each season.

Bethany Mota

Bethany has over 10 million subscribers, and it’s not only because everyone wants to be her best friend. Bethany’s taste is impeccable; she manages to find the cutest clothes even in the most overwhelming stores (you know what we’re talking about). Her videos are also incredibly high def.

Laura Gemma Meachem

Laura is king to her subscribers, posting haul videos at least once a week if not more. She hits stores like Primark, H&M, and BooHoo. Her videos are simple and nice to watch (not too chatty).

Conagh Kathleen

This 19 year old fashion (and beauty) vlogger dedicates herself to her videos and subscribers. Within 1 year of her first posted video she obtained over 200,000 fans. She gives EXTREMELY honest reviews on stores and clothing, and is both entertaining and informative.
