The Best Way to Declutter Your Closet

It may not be spring, but there’s no reason you can’t do a fall cleaning! If you don’t want to deal with your whole house, you can declutter and organize your closet and get ready for the new fashion season that’s approaching.

Have Enough Time

Whether you’re the type of person who loves cleaning and organizing or perhaps someone who doesn’t enjoy the activity as much as the end result, you need to set aside enough time to complete such a big project. It would be ideal to have a whole day to take out, try, and sort all the items you keep in your wardrobe.

Be Realistic

Decluttering should be all about the things you want to keep so be realistic about your lifestyle and your actual needs. If you spend most of your time at home, perhaps you don’t need to hang on to all the clothes you used to wear to work. If you’ve just finished school and are about to start working, expect your fashion needs to change, too.

Recycling

Once you’ve decided what clothes you want to keep and what needs to go out of your life, you need to sort the pile that isn’t going back to your closet. Separate into categories like selling, donating, repairing, recycling, etc.
