We don’t have to wait any longer, the theme for the 2020 Met Gala has been announced.
The name of the event is “About Time: Fashion and Duration” and it’s about how fashion has evolved throughout the decades.
Andrew Bolton, the Metropolitan Museum of Art’s Costume Institute curator told The New York Times that the idea behind the theme is that fashion and time are connected, “It not only reflects and represents the spirit of the times, but it also changes and develops with the times.”
Bolton also said it’s influenced by writer Virginia Woolf and 20th-century philosopher Henri Bergson.
You may have guessed that there will be historic clocks and works from Woolf as decorations for the event.
If you didn’t already hear, the co-chairs for the event are Emma Stone, Meryl Streep, Lin Manuel Miranda, and Louis Vuitton’s creative director Nicolas Ghesquière.
The Met Gala will happen on May 7, 2020, and we can’t wait to see how our favorite stars will dress for this year’s theme!
