A new year brings new red carpet trends along, and 2020 already gave us its first major fashion craze. Puffy sleeves are taking the world by storm and here’s a couple of stars who made a statement by rocking them on the red carpet.

Jodie Comer

The dramatic sleeves first made a splash at this year’s Golden Globe ceremony, and Comer’s emerald Mary Katrantzou gown was one of many that put this trend on the map.

Beyoncé

Beyoncé also gave her seal of approval to fashion pieces with puffy sleeves with this custom Schiaparelli gown, that perfectly blended black and gold shades.

Bebe Rexha

The “Last Hurrah” singer proved that little black dress and signature sleeves can be a perfect combo with this adorable Yanina Couture number.

Cynthia Erivo

Over-the-top sleeves were all the rage at the Critics’ Choice Awards, as well, and Erivo was one of the stars who embraced this trend with her colorful Fendi number.

Olivia Wilde

Wilde kept things simple and classy with her Valentino gown, but puffy sleeves gave it that special something it would’ve been missing otherwise.

It’s only been a couple of days since Jodie Comer picked up an Emmy for her lead role in Killing Eve, and if this award was given for fashion campaigns – she would easily win another one. The young actress recently appeared in Loewe’s new campaign video, which puts her amazing acting skills on full display.

Comer is not playing her most iconic character this time around, but she’s giving us major Villanelle vibes with her intensity and killer fashion sense. The clip simply sees her repeatedly pronouncing the word “Loewe” across the whole spectrum of emotions, but it’s honestly an acting master class.

The short film, promoting brand’s Spring/Summer 2020 collection, was filmed by Loewe’s creative director Jonathan Anderson who was impressed by her commitment to this project.

“[Comer] is 100 per cent committed to an idea. I find that incredibly inspiring and I think that’s why people have gravitated towards her, and why we wanted to work with her in this campaign,” Anderson told Elle.

Jodie Comer is no stranger to high-end fashion, since she created one of the most stylish on-screen characters in recent memory with Villanelle, and she has attended red carpet events wearing designs by Alexander McQueen, Erdem, and Chloé.

Jodie Comer

The Killing Eve star was one of the biggest winners of the night – and she certainly looked like one when she hit the red carpet in this simple, yet sublime Stella McCartney gown.

Ruth Wilson

Wilson was just the right kind of edgy when she joined her fellow nominees on the red carpet in this belted black dress by Alessandra Rich.

Emma Mackey

We’ll always be suckers for a good power suit, and that’s exactly what the Sex Education actress gave us at BAFTA TV Awards.

Rochelle Humes

Humes slayed the fashion game when she hit the red carpet in this amazing thigh-high, sheer gown by Yves Saint Laurent.

Holly Willoughby

Willoughby never had any trouble making the best dressed list, and she’s done it once again with this navy thigh-split gown by Maria Lucia Hohan.
