It's been "shaky" in Southern California lately… 😬 Stay safe, my California friends! And look up some safety tips, especially if you Ike me moved here from a place where earthquakes don’t happen. ⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Here are some that I think are necessary to know if you're caught at home:⠀ ✅ Drop where you are, onto your hands and knees. Sudden and intense back and forth motions of several feet per second will cause the floor to jerk sideways out from under you, and every unsecured object around you could topple, fall, or become airborne, potentially causing serious injury (source: earthquakecountry.org)⠀ ✅ Take cover under a sturdy table or desk and stay put until the shaking stops⠀ ✅ Cover your head and neck with one arm and hand⠀ ✅ Call your dog and hold him/her by the collar, so that he/she doesn't take off if a loud sound scares him/her⠀ ✅ If it happens at night, don't get out of your bed – protect your head with a pillow⠀ ✅Check out earthquakecountry.org/dropcoverholdon/ – there are some videos where the LA County firefighters explain how to stay safe.⠀ ⠀ ⛔️ Don't run around, don't run outside. Research has shown that most injuries occur when people inside buildings attempt to move to a different location inside the building or try to leave.⠀ ⛔️ Stay away from glass, windows, glass doors.⠀ ⠀ And if you live in Southern California:⠀ 👍 Get into the habit of wearing slippers when you are at home. Leave them by your bed when you go to sleep. One of the common injuries during earthquakes is feet cut on glass.⠀ 👍 Make sure you have extra bottled water in your home at all times, as well as in your car and everywhere else you spend time at (your office, your studio). ⠀ 👍 Buy an earthquake backpack for each person in your household. I got one for two for about $130 on Amazon in the beginning of this year when the NPR podcast The Big One came out. ⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Let's just hope that we never need to use them! ⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Model @itsritchierich of @omodelsagency ⠀⠀ Makeup @lilly_keys ⠀⠀ Makeup assistant @kashalassien ⠀⠀ Photo & post @juliakuzmenko #freckles #sunkissed

Hyaluronic Acid

Hyaluronic acid is already a part of the natural composure of your skin. In other words, it’s an ingredient that you can’t go wrong with. It helps with the production of collagen and elastin and it has hydrating abilities.

Glycolic Acid

It’s another acid that has amazing benefits for your complexion. This one has a mild exfoliating effect so you should be careful when introducing it to your routine.

Retinol

If you haven’t heard of retinol by now you must be living under a tree. It is one of the most popular anti-aging ingredients in skincare that all experts are raving about. Let’s start with the fact that it helps with the removal of dead skin cells and leaves the skin fresh.

Vitamin C

Antioxidants are extremely important for the skin as well. Vitamin C is packed with them, therefore stimulates the skin to produce more collagen and elastin and it improves your skin’s overall appearance.
