Tiffany Haddish is the daughter of Tsihaye Reda Haddish a refugee from Eritrea. At the Academy Awards ceremony, Haddish chose to wear a traditional Eritrean dress called a Zuria as a tribute to her late father.
“He said one day I will end up here, and if I ever end up at the Oscars to honor my people.” Eritreans took to social media to celebrate Haddish’s choice of attire.
