Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show is Leaving Network TV

Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show is one of the most anticipated events of its kind, but some major changes are currently underway.

The world’s leading lingerie brand recently announced that they intend to remove the broadcast of their annual runway show from network television.

ABC and CBS have been taking turns broadcasting this show since 2001, but it started suffering from a drop in viewership numbers over the course of the last few years. After reaching a new low in 2018, Victoria’s Secret bosses decided it’s time for the big change.

Les Wexner, CEO of brand’s parent company L Brands, released an official statement explaining their decision. They are currently focusing on evolution and growth, and network television no longer seems as the right fit.

“In 2019 and beyond, we’re focusing on developing exciting and dynamic content and a new kind of event – delivered to our customers on platforms that she’s glued to… and in ways that will push the boundaries of fashion in the global digital age,” stated Wexner.

We’re really hoping this will prove as a move in the right direction for this beloved brand. If you still feel reminiscent about the good old days, check out some of the most epic moments from last year’s show.
