This year’s Toronto International Film Festival brought many amazing red carpet looks our way, and we’ve noticed several new trends. Dazzling black dresses were having a moment at this year’s festival, and these five looks will certainly light up your day.

Selene Gomez

Selene Gomez attended the premiere of her new film Emilia Pérez in a custom Rodarte black sequin gown with a flower-adorned halter neckline and peplum detail.

Zoe Saldaña

Gomez’s  Emilia Pérez co-star Zoe Saldaña also brought some dazzle to the red carpet. She hit the red carpet in a sheer black lace gown by Armani Privé, with an oversized layered bow on the back.

Lupita Nyong’o

Lupita Nyong’o was one of the best-dressed stars of this year’s TIFF, and she rocked our world in a sequined Gucci floor-length gown with subtle sheer details during the TIFF Tribute Awards.

Caitriona Balfe

Caitriona Balfe was one of the stars wearing black at the world premiere of The Cut. Her sequined Balmain dress stood out thanks to its thigh-high slit and crystal-accented buckles.

Moses Ingram

Veiled and hooded dresses are having a moment right now, and Moses Ingram brought this trend to Toronto with her dazzling strapless Rahul Mishra gown, which came with a matching hair covering.
