Roan has stated that she’s not a huge fan of her birth name, Kayleigh Rose. She initially produced and released music using her birth name, but in 2016 she adopted the name after her grandfather, Dennis K. Chappell, passed away. The ‘Roan’ part of her name comes from his favorite song title, “The Strawberry Roan” by Curley Fletcher.
