“Friends” Turns 25: Here’s How To Get “The Rachel”

Friends recently celebrated the 25th anniversary of its TV premiere. 25 years later, Friends is still one of the most-watched shows on Netflix and Rachel Green is still one of our favorite style icons. In fact, we are still struggling to think of hair that is more iconic than “The Rachel.” Here’s how to achieve the look yourself.

Condition Regularly

To maintain luscious long locks, Anniston has a strict hair care routine. In fact, she washes her hair pretty much every day.

“She loves having her hair shampooed fresh and clean. She shampoos and conditions pretty much every day—if she’s going for the day-old-hair look, she prefers to create it using products,” Jennifer Aniston’s stylist, Chris McMillan told ELLE.

Embrace Your Natural Waves

Anniston may have red-carpet-ready hair but she stays away from curling irons. The trick is to embrace your natural hair and work with the waves you have.

“If you look at her hair, it looks like it grew out of her head like that—it doesn’t look like a curling iron touched it,” Chris explained. “We never use curling irons or flatirons on her hair. We always try to work with her natural texture and use round brushes to give a soft curl.

Give Your Hair A Break

Although “The Rachel” sports chunky ’90s highlights, stylists are recommending that we give our hair a break and cut off the dead ends. There is a reason Anniston is currently rocking a shoulder-length cut. Instead of trying to nourish your over-dyed ends, chop them off.
