Selena Gomez recently joined forces with newly-founded swimwear brand Krahs and launched a new range of stylish swimsuits. One of the pieces in this collection has a very special meaning since the young singer wanted it to cover her surgical scars.
Krahs was founded by Selena’s friend and former personal assistant Theresa Marie Mingus, and she was more than happy to help her put this brand on the map. She designed several pieces in their first collection, including a chic swimsuit with a high waist and a belt, that helps conceal her kidney transplant scar.
Gomez underwent surgery in 2017. While discussing their joint collection on Instagram, the singer told Theresa Marie Mingus that this experience inspired her Krahs designs.
“I did have a really good time designing. It was fun. The design I did, one of them, it was the high waisted one with the belt. I’ve had a kidney transplant and I like bathing suits that kind of cover where that’s been and make me feel comfortable,” Gomez explained.
