The creators of NakedPoppy, Jaleh Bisharat and Kimberly Shenk, decided it was time to do something about this problem so they developed technology to help create personalized makeup recommendations. NakedPoppy is a website that sells cruelty-free, clean, long-lasting beauty products.

Bisharat, co-founder and CEO of the company said, “We call it better for you, better on you. We wake up breathing clean beauty… it’s the core of what we do.”

The site offers a three-minute quiz to access your skin type, skin color, hair color, etc. The assessment also has a camera that takes a picture of your wrist to figure out your base skin color. Upon completion of the quiz, NakedPoppy’s technology curates a selection of options that will work best for you. There are a bunch of brands offered on the site which include Lily Lolo, Antonym Cosmetics, Ere Perez Natural Cosmetics, and Kosas Cosmetics.

NakedPoppy released their first product, the NakedPoppy Clean Liquid Eyeliner and they plan on coming out with more products in the future. You can check out the brand’s website here.

]]> Nothing says timelessly classy – yet sexy – quite like a red lip or red dress. But if you’re Irina Shayk, why not do both at once? Double the class and double the beauty, right? At least on Shayk, it certainly appears that way. 

The supermodel graced the streets of New York not only with her beautiful face, but with a gorgeous outfit to match. Shayk strutted in a slinky red slip dress, complete with waist-high slits, and a red lip so bold, we wish we had half its confidence. The crimson shades were perfect matches, taking this look to new heights. To further amplify her head-turning appearance, the model opted for strappy sandals and a nude-colored pedicure, making her legs seems as if they were miles long.

To keep her lips the focal point of her face, Shayk wore her hair in a slicked-back bun, with simply elegant diamond earrings and a necklace to complement. Taking care to show just the right amount of skin while still leaving plenty to the imagination, the beauty draped a long black trench coat around her shoulders and carried a teeny tiny black mini bag.

]]> No one puts on a show quite like Lady Gaga; the singer belts her heart out, plays the piano passionately, and dances like there’s no tomorrow. Naturally, going all out to impress crowds like that night after night takes a toll on the body. So it’s no wonder that Gaga is very serious about her post-show recovery routine. 

Recently, the singer debuted her new makeup line called Haus Laboratories, and then promptly headed back to Las Vegas to resume her Enigma show. Upon which, she gave us all an inside look at her strict self-care regime. Gaga posted a story on her Instagram using a Gyrotonics machine (for balance and agility) in a dazzling silver dress and blue wig mid-show, mind you. Once the show ended, the star gave us a glimpse into the post-show recovery, sharing shots of herself in a “compression suit packed with ice packs for 20,” then “Ice bath for 5–10 [minutes], hot bath for 20,” all while still wearing her extravagant show attire. Apparently improving blood flow and reducing inflammation is too important for Gaga to wait for a change of clothes.

]]> Anne Hathaway is giving us some serious pregnancy glow these days. The actress announced that she was pregnant (again) earlier this summer and has been serving looks ever since. For instance, immediately following her announcement, the actress showed up to the red carpet in a beautifully embellished, Naeem Khan caftan with matching earrings and a long braid. In September, Hathaway donned a halter-neck, magenta gown with cutouts and shoulder-length hair with easy waves. And just this past Thursday the star dazzled at an event for her new show, Modern Love, on Amazon. 

Hathaway posed in a gorgeous, white, custom-made Oscar de la Renta with impeccable structure and tailoring; she accentuated the outfit with gold earrings, a necklace, and simple black strappy sandals. Her slicked back hairstyle put her glowing skin on display, which she credits to giving up alcohol and focusing on hydration. Her dewey, youthful-looking skin was complemented by minimal eye makeup, rosy cheeks, and a berry-tinted pout, done by makeup artist Kate Lee.

Milan Fashion Week, in particular, gave us a lot to think about in the way of hair and makeup this fall, and these are our favorite runway trends, whether or not they’re actually wearable is up to you. 

Tangerine

Orange you glad this color is back in fashion? We sure are. Always and especially beautiful on darker skin tones, this one really works for anyone. 

Painted Hair

This look may not be exactly new per say (ahem, balayage), but the streaky, metallic color blocking certainly is something a bit funky and out of the box for a little extra oomph to your look. 

Braids

Perhaps the most timeless (not to mention practical) of all the trends we saw, braids are back in a big way and hopefully they are here to stay.

The colorist responsible for the model’s lighter tresses, Jenna Perry, has just opened a new salon in the East Village. So, if you’re anywhere near the tri-state area (or even if you’re not) now you can try to book an appointment with Perry for red carpet-worthy looks. 

“Hair color is the most important accessory; if it’s really good, you don’t even have to brush your hair,” claims Perry. Not sure if we’re on board with the latter half of that statement but the former is definitely true. We wear our hair everyday so it should probably be the one thing that we splurge on to make sure it looks good. And if you’re going to splurge, you’d better make sure that the artist you’re paying is a good one.

]]> Angelina Jolie showed us all that she’s still got it. The actress made a stunning red carpet appearance for the premiere of her new movie, Maleficent: Mistress of Evil, and reminded us all not to dare sleep on her. 

The usually no-nonsense (when it comes to fashion) star made quite a departure from her usual style and opted for a gorgeous and glamorous 1920’s flapper-inspired gown. The tea-length dress complete with shimmering silver tiers showed off Jolie’s slender silhouette. She also accented the ensemble with matching silver drop earrings and chrome-esque pumps. The beauty wore her hair in a simple half-up half-down style indicating that she’s still a big fan of a minimalistic look. 

Jolie was accompanied to the premiere by her children Maddox and Zahara, who were equally well-dressed. Maddox donned a chic all-black suit while Zahara opted for a mature floor-length black dress with lace lining. Maddox flew all the way to Japan to be with his mother after starting school at Yonsei University in Seoul, South Korea just a couple weeks prior.

]]> Nothing says timelessly classy – yet sexy – quite like a red lip or red dress. But if you’re Irina Shayk, why not do both at once? Double the class and double the beauty, right? At least on Shayk, it certainly appears that way. 

The supermodel graced the streets of New York not only with her beautiful face, but with a gorgeous outfit to match. Shayk strutted in a slinky red slip dress, complete with waist-high slits, and a red lip so bold, we wish we had half its confidence. The crimson shades were perfect matches, taking this look to new heights. To further amplify her head-turning appearance, the model opted for strappy sandals and a nude-colored pedicure, making her legs seems as if they were miles long.

To keep her lips the focal point of her face, Shayk wore her hair in a slicked-back bun, with simply elegant diamond earrings and a necklace to complement. Taking care to show just the right amount of skin while still leaving plenty to the imagination, the beauty draped a long black trench coat around her shoulders and carried a teeny tiny black mini bag.

]]> No one puts on a show quite like Lady Gaga; the singer belts her heart out, plays the piano passionately, and dances like there’s no tomorrow. Naturally, going all out to impress crowds like that night after night takes a toll on the body. So it’s no wonder that Gaga is very serious about her post-show recovery routine. 

Recently, the singer debuted her new makeup line called Haus Laboratories, and then promptly headed back to Las Vegas to resume her Enigma show. Upon which, she gave us all an inside look at her strict self-care regime. Gaga posted a story on her Instagram using a Gyrotonics machine (for balance and agility) in a dazzling silver dress and blue wig mid-show, mind you. Once the show ended, the star gave us a glimpse into the post-show recovery, sharing shots of herself in a “compression suit packed with ice packs for 20,” then “Ice bath for 5–10 [minutes], hot bath for 20,” all while still wearing her extravagant show attire. Apparently improving blood flow and reducing inflammation is too important for Gaga to wait for a change of clothes.

]]> Anne Hathaway is giving us some serious pregnancy glow these days. The actress announced that she was pregnant (again) earlier this summer and has been serving looks ever since. For instance, immediately following her announcement, the actress showed up to the red carpet in a beautifully embellished, Naeem Khan caftan with matching earrings and a long braid. In September, Hathaway donned a halter-neck, magenta gown with cutouts and shoulder-length hair with easy waves. And just this past Thursday the star dazzled at an event for her new show, Modern Love, on Amazon. 

Hathaway posed in a gorgeous, white, custom-made Oscar de la Renta with impeccable structure and tailoring; she accentuated the outfit with gold earrings, a necklace, and simple black strappy sandals. Her slicked back hairstyle put her glowing skin on display, which she credits to giving up alcohol and focusing on hydration. Her dewey, youthful-looking skin was complemented by minimal eye makeup, rosy cheeks, and a berry-tinted pout, done by makeup artist Kate Lee.

Milan Fashion Week, in particular, gave us a lot to think about in the way of hair and makeup this fall, and these are our favorite runway trends, whether or not they’re actually wearable is up to you. 

Tangerine

Orange you glad this color is back in fashion? We sure are. Always and especially beautiful on darker skin tones, this one really works for anyone. 

Painted Hair

This look may not be exactly new per say (ahem, balayage), but the streaky, metallic color blocking certainly is something a bit funky and out of the box for a little extra oomph to your look. 

Braids

Perhaps the most timeless (not to mention practical) of all the trends we saw, braids are back in a big way and hopefully they are here to stay.

The colorist responsible for the model’s lighter tresses, Jenna Perry, has just opened a new salon in the East Village. So, if you’re anywhere near the tri-state area (or even if you’re not) now you can try to book an appointment with Perry for red carpet-worthy looks. 

“Hair color is the most important accessory; if it’s really good, you don’t even have to brush your hair,” claims Perry. Not sure if we’re on board with the latter half of that statement but the former is definitely true. We wear our hair everyday so it should probably be the one thing that we splurge on to make sure it looks good. And if you’re going to splurge, you’d better make sure that the artist you’re paying is a good one.

]]> Angelina Jolie showed us all that she’s still got it. The actress made a stunning red carpet appearance for the premiere of her new movie, Maleficent: Mistress of Evil, and reminded us all not to dare sleep on her. 

The usually no-nonsense (when it comes to fashion) star made quite a departure from her usual style and opted for a gorgeous and glamorous 1920’s flapper-inspired gown. The tea-length dress complete with shimmering silver tiers showed off Jolie’s slender silhouette. She also accented the ensemble with matching silver drop earrings and chrome-esque pumps. The beauty wore her hair in a simple half-up half-down style indicating that she’s still a big fan of a minimalistic look. 

Jolie was accompanied to the premiere by her children Maddox and Zahara, who were equally well-dressed. Maddox donned a chic all-black suit while Zahara opted for a mature floor-length black dress with lace lining. Maddox flew all the way to Japan to be with his mother after starting school at Yonsei University in Seoul, South Korea just a couple weeks prior.
