The Countdown For the Met Gala 2020 is Officially On

Love fashion and celebrity culture? Then we bet you love the Met Gala as much as we do.

The star-studded event sees the biggest celebrity names collaborate with the biggest fashion designers to put on the creative event of the year. The likes of Rihanna, Cara Delavigne and Cardi B all step onto the catwalk dressed head to toe in elite and glamorous attire.

Last year, the theme of the event was “Camp” and in 2020, the Met Gala will reimagine fashion history that’s “fragmented, discontinuous, and heterogeneous.”

According to The New York Times, the Met Gala 2020 is “inspired by the novels of Virginia Woolf and the theories of the early-20th-century French philosopher Henri Bergson, whose admittedly somewhat obscure but also important musings on time posited it as a constantly mutating stream rather than a series of discrete moments.”

“I wanted to do an exhibition focused on the collection, but not a traditional masterworks exhibition,” Andrew Bolton, curator at Metropolitan Museum of Art added. “Something that connects to the zeitgeist, and what people are talking about now.”

The Met Gala 2020 will take place on May 7. The countdown is on.
