Before kicking off his partnership with Chanel, Lamar spent a week in Paris with their team and explored the brand’s history, and this experience inspired him to deepen his collaboration with the French luxury brand.

“I visited the Chanel ateliers and saw the process of how something goes from design to execution. Seeing the people who work hard and bring these visions to life resonates with me. Chanel has a timeless legacy and that is always something I can get behind,” Lamar said in a statement to Business of Fashion.

Lamar had several brushes with Chanel long before becoming their brand ambassador. He wore Chanel glasses in the music video for his song “Luther” ft. SZA shortly before announcing his partnership with the brand.

Even though Chanel’s menswear offer is limited, they’ve collaborated with an impressive roster of male ambassadors in the past. Lamar is joining in the ranks of Nile Rodgers and Pharrell Williams, who were featured in Chanel’s eyewear campaign, and Timothée Chalamet, who’s the face of their “Bleu de Chanel” perfume range.

Robbie and Elordi star in the new promo film called See You At Five,  which follows them along the roads of California. Chanel describes it as “the story of two lovers’ missed connections that leads a woman toward her destiny” making us wonder if there will be a rendez-vous waiting at the end of the journey.

Robbie was chosen as the latest face of the iconic fragrance Chanel N°5 just last month. The brand’s new ad sees her embodying “a woman who has decided she won’t be just another number, choosing over and over again to put her faith in whatever the future holds.”

Visionary director Luca Guadagnino was in charge of directing this short film, while Daft Punk’s “Veridis Quo” served as a soundtrack. This won’t mark the last collaboration between Robbie and Elordi. They got a chance to test their chemistry in this campaign before getting ready to play Catherine and Heathcliff in Emerald Fennell’s adaptation of Emily Brontë’s classic novel Wuthering Heights.

Virginie Viard presented a total of 79 runway looks and offered a fresh and feminine take on some of Chanel’s signature pieces. Her first collection included a wide range of bow-adorned dresses, wide-legged trousers, tweed blazers and other ‘80s inspired looks.

Lagerfeld managed to become as recognizable as his celebrity clients thanks to his signature white pony tail, black sunglasses and starched high-collared shirts. Bruno Pavlovsky, President of the fashion house, claims they made this choice on their own because they struggled to source skins which met their ethical and quality standards.

“There is a problem of supply and that was not Chanel’s business anyway, we did it because it’s in the air, but it’s not an air people imposed to us. It’s a free choice. The future of high-end products will come from the know-how of what our atelier is able to do,” explained Pavlovsky.

Some of the exotic skins this ban applies to include crocodile, lizard, snake, stingray and also fur. Masterminds at Chanel are currently working on developing new sustainable materials to replace them, but it will take some time before the animal products work their way out of boutique distribution.

Pharrell Williams is also a constant fixture in the front row of their shows, so it was just a matter of time before they teamed up to create something amazing together. He also composed a song for an original film by Karl Lagerfeld to accompany pre-fall 2015 show in Paris and Salzburg.

Pharrell’ ready-to-wear and accessories capsule collection will debut exclusively on March 29 at Chanel’s new flagship in Seoul. It should appear in selected Chanel boutiques around the world from April 4, but we still haven’t received any news about the size of the range and pricing.
