The designer told Vogue “I couldn’t believe that my name is in a Taylor Swift song (what?!). After Taylor played me the entire album it gave me such incredible inspiration for the collaboration and it really revolved around the music… What I love is how we really complement each other in what we generate creatively together.”

For online purchase, the duo has created a line of organic cotton tees and pullovers, a sustainably sourced bomber jacket, and an Eco Alter-Nappa leather bag, all inspired by not only Lover, but also vintage T-Swift lyrics and band merch, and her cat, Benjamin Button. Even more creations will be available in the “Lover Experience” pop-up shop, including the pieces below and a reusable water bottle.

McCartney ended her deal with LVMH’s competitor, Kering, last year, and bought back their 50% stake in her company. Reps for McCartney confirm that the designer will remain the majority owner and creative director, overseeing women’s, men’s, and children’s wear.

The fashion icon says that since gaining full ownership of her company, she has been propositioned by “various parties expressing their wish to partner and invest” however, “none could match the conversation” with LVMH owners and the father-son duo Bernard and Antoine Arnault. McCartney says that “the passion and commitment they expressed towards the Stella McCartney brand alongside their belief in the ambitions and our values as the global leader in sustainable luxury fashion was truly impressive.”

Arnault has said that this partnership is “…the beginning of a beautiful story together, and we are convinced of the great long-term potential of her House. A decisive factor was that she was the first to put sustainability and ethical issues on the front stage, very early on, and built her House around these issues.”

Well okay, she does, but not all of them and not all the time. The designer says that she learned while studying at London’s Savile Row that it’s not necessary to clean many garments. McCartney said she learned that “the rule on a bespoke suit is you do not clean it. You do not touch it. You let the dirt dry and you brush it off.”

She carries this philosophy into many other aspects of her day-to-day as well, “Basically, in life, rule of thumb: if you don’t absolutely have to clean anything, don’t clean it.”

Some people might think that this is a bit of an extreme tactic and like things super clean. But McCartney explains that she is “an incredibly hygienic [person], but [she’s] not a fan of dry cleaning or any cleaning, really.”

This principle runs deep in McCartney’s brand as sustainability and ethical, eco-friendliness is her bread and butter. As long as nothing looks dirty, I guess it’s okay. Right?

The daughter of Paul McCartney is using her “All Together Now” collection to mark the 50th anniversary of the Beatles film Yellow Submarine. She fell in love with it all over again once she rewatched it after many years, and decided to do something about it.

“I recently went to a screening with family and friends for the digital relaunch of Yellow Submarine. I hadn’t seen it since I was young, and honestly, it blew my mind. It affected me in a way I just wasn’t expecting,” explained Stella McCartney in a press release.

Her new collection made its debut during this year’s Glastonbury Festival, where Billie Eilish rocked one of her custom designs. All the pieces are inspired by Yellow Submarine, and McCartney designed them in the hope they’ll bring the fun, fantasy and psychedelia of the iconic film back to life.
